What exactly is meant by the term “saltwater leader”?

Saltwater leaders are simply an extra length of fishing line that is commonly produced from a different material than the spooled line on your fishing rod.  They are tied to the end of your rig using a knot or swivel to secure the leader line position. Because of the variety of materials used in fishing line, leaders may assist improve the appearance of almost any hook and lure arrangement by rendering the end of the fishing line practically invisible. This can make your bait look more presentable to your target fish which makes the prospect of eating the bait that much more attractive.
