The GSD 26 uses the most recent advancements in digital Spread Spectrum technologies to provide significantly better target definition, bottom contours, and signal noise suppression at greater depths than traditional sonar does.
This was done so in order to meet the stringent requirements of the most demanding sport fishing applications.
Spread spectrum sonar, as opposed to conventional sonar, which uses a single frequency, sweeps each pulse across a variety of frequencies.
This allows the technology to give far more information with an unparalleled level of resolution and target separation in both shallow and deep water.
The GSD 26 allows fishermen to manually modify the frequency range, which ranges from a very low 25 kHz to a high of 210 kHz.
This makes it simple for fishermen to fine-tune their targeting of trophy-size game fish.
Additionally, the GSD 26's dual-transceivers provide simultaneous and separate transducer operation, which, in turn, enables comprehensive customisation for the serious sport angler.
The GSD 26 has a configurable range of transmit power from 300 to 3,000 watts, making it compatible with the most recent line of broadband transducers offered by Airmar.
It has the ability to scan as far down as 3,000 meters (nearly 10,000 feet).
Additionally, it is intended to link with the Garmin Marine Network so that it may be seen on the most recent chartplotter/MFDs from the GPSMAPR 4000/5000 and 6000/7000 series.
